Irish Week-End

While i had an almost 'brain-dead' weekend of free from internet and books, it was bearable with irish musics from U2 (how so sexy), Ronan Keatings, The Corrs, Brian McFadden and the heavenly Cranberries plus the ever-invigorating Riverdance!

I absolutely & passionately adore the anthems of the Cranberries.

If there’s one voice that can accompany me through a dreary weekend, it just has to be the melodic wails of Dolores O’Riordan. Her inimitable, almost hypnotic Irish chant-chorus, can lull one into a state of delirious hallucination (remember Zombie?)

But what is more feverishly haunting about the music of the Cranberries - after getting pass O’Riordan’s almost banshee-like howl, in her thickly accented Irish - is how meaningful the themes and lyrics of their music can be, of which Irish war-terrorism has always been a focal point.

In fact, not many will realize that Zombie is actually an Irish protest song - a stormy narrative of the Irish revolution in Dublin in 1916, where the English army brought in the tanks and shelled the entirety of Dublin city.

It’s a shame that the Cranberries have gone their separate ways.

Hi Adik! The rest has made me running faster this week :) Yes, we can still keep on resting by controlling what we think. Be a great tourist guide to your lil sis ok? Take care!

Dear Mssr Oscar, i knew it! I mean when i like something, it means something great! Thanks for sharing with yours truly about Cranberries. For me, Dolores' voise is heavenly - it tugs my soul. While they go separate ways, it is always good to realise that people like us 'worship' their art pieces..don't you think Sir?
