Nabbing the napping docs


To laugh or to curse – that was my dilemma after reading our Health Minister’s backing of the 2 Gomen doctors at HKL here. So, instead, I shed some tears for our Kitchen Cabinet Minister is definitely not cut for his responsibility – ensuring all citizens are provided with reliable and humane medical treatment with dignity. I wonder why we put idiots running all these life-and-death matters.

So, does it justify their laissez-faire attitude to those waiting patients (mind you, they were at the A&E’s critical zone)? My colleague was telling me that a friend to his son died while waiting at the A&E Unit in front of his dad’s eyes and I've heard many other shocking stories too. Can you imagine the pain and guilt his family has to endure for the rest of their lives? I wouldn't wish to put anyone in that sad reality.

Hello stupid docs (ops, not you Mr H, you are heaven-sent), why on earth you became a doctor in the first place when you are so bloody lazy and heartless? If you think another human’s life is worthless of your responsibility, I suggest you may want to consider working at the morgue. Maybe you have more time flipping through MSM.

As I was telling my uncle (both my Chu and Pak Busu are good, god-fearing, responsible medical doctors), each family should invest in one medical doctor. Reasons being – when you started mentioning that your so-and-so is a doctor, the doctors and nurses will give you their very best – so call it your safety net from ‘meeting your Maker untimely or in great pains as a result of medical negligence’. Of course, life and death is in the hands of God but to allow one to suffer before that is horribly sinful.

Perhaps, we should exercise our rights and to exercise one before death befallen to anyone. Hmm, I wonder if those inhumane doctors are covered with relevant professional insurance coverage so we could ‘nab’ them? Don’t blame me OK, I’m just ‘menyahut seruan KPDN’s motto – jadilah pengguna yang bijak’.

I heard this metaphorical song over FlyFM as it is nominated for Best Hip-hop Song for Malique (the other partner of Joe Flizzow) – such a beautiful lyric and it features the One and Only M Nasir.

This one of the songs from Malique’s latest album called “OK”. From several reviews I read, many dedicated this song to our politicians. “Menang dengan otak, Tak mesti dengan pedang”. I think this song ‘really masuk akal’.

Money Can't Buy Love - Adopt An Animal


Animals matter to me and i truly believe when Mahatma Gandhi says that "the greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated". Somehow, I am not a good pet owner as i turned all my cats into 'humans' - can you believe that?

So, i follow Shoba's Remembering Sheena blog for my conscience check-and-balance (and a good site to jump-start my crying, reading many heart-rendering stories). Yesterday, she shares with us a letter from a shelter manager - that 50% of pets abandoned at the shelter are purebreeds that were given away as gifts to the loved ones, that the shelter will keep them for 72 hours failing to find a suitable adoption home, they will put down to sleep, well, if they ever survive that long in such crowded shelters.

Please, i beg you out there: -

1. Animals are living beings - they are not material possession that you can ditch once you get bored with them - think and think more before you decided to give a pet as a gift. Back in The Little Red Dot, it is normal for SPCA to find many stray puppies and dogs after XMas.

2. Adopt an animal from shelters - while the pet seller doesn't bother to check whether you are capable of being a good owner, most shelters do short interview session with prospective owners and some even go beyond their call of responsibility, visiting their homes too. Let's help these God Helpers getting a home sweet home for the abandoned souls. Who says we need money to buy love? They are free and believe me, they will love you - unconditionally.

3. Pedigree or not, all animals are cute - I know some people keep expensive pets for reasons they know of but always remember, as expensive as their price tag, keeping one is going to burn a hole or two in your pocket. Why not take a little step by adopting a normal cat/dog at the shelter. I can't describe to you how peaceful i feel whenever my cats started purring when i stroke them and to see them sleeping fitfully - what a difference i make to them. Those twinkles in their eyes are genuine - i hope they are not like human beings who can fake their affection and devotions to feel powerful and loved (well, from my experience, they never do).

It is just too sad to acknowledge the fact that we - regarded as the highly developed thinking mammals - are the very reasons animals are being mistreated. May us have the courage and the kindness to stop this vicious cycle.

I haven't return my "TV Junkie" pass as of last weekend as I have been watching "Sunshine" (Wow, Capa is so plainly handsome), Driving Lessons (Yes, I don't bloody care what people think of me - i just know who i am and what i stand for), Outsourced (I wonder if the Ang Mohs think asian women are beautiful no matter how curvaceous they are) and Golden Compass.

I told myself, if i could ask God what I want to be in life - that will be Lyra Belacqua.

Yes, that’s his response to Newsweek on what makes him different from other economists. Well, hearing this from THE MAN who prophesied about our current global financial crisis around 1.5 years before it happened, now i know why: -

1. Our Ibupertiwi will remains the same though the Gomen still deems it is befitting to have 28 ministers and too many deputies - almost the same underperforming faces like the previous 'kitchen' cabinet (Read: Have they come up with anything truly beneficial and workable?);

2. Any organisation that holds too many meetings aren't productive enough despite having so many parties to attend a meeting when there is only one who does the talking and dictates everything;

3. Artists produced via reality TV show will never go far in the industry;

4. A crush will never go beyond that - simply because you are plain irrationally over-excited over someone. Shish..no wonder i felt dumb for the past 2 weeks.

p.s. Dr Realist has never married as i found out in Wikipedia. Hmm, perhaps men can only function well (Read: Beyond Spec) when they don't have women in their lives. Someone up there (you know who) should stop fooling around with women if he wants to remain in the power house.

Optimus Prime - My Kind of Hero


Sticking to "late bloomer" motto, i only watched "Transformers - The Movie" early this year. I have one question to ask you though - is it permissible to cry while watching this movie? Somehow, i did - courtesy of "Optimus Prime".

I thought of PR's bloggers and many unnamed unsung heroes who fight for this Ibu Pertiwi - they are my Optimus Prime. Is it worth their time to fight for us when draconian ISA and Police F(a)rce (more of bullies i'd say - they even rhyme!) brutality linger around? Why would they do all these for us? My God, I am truly blessed. Please God, please protects them - always.

I found these 2 eco-friendly accessories so bewitchingly tempting. OMG OMG OMG! They are actually made from plastic-coated recycled newspapers – can you believe that? They are availabe from Morrison & Me in Cincinnati of Mr Barack Obama's land.

Wow, I can imagine myself ‘stamping’ the lousy spinner MSM every time I put on my totes. Yes, that’s where they belong for now - unless the editors repent.

p.s. When women get depressed, they go shopping – virtually or in reality – anything goes baby. Size 36, please?

GoMen of No-Sense and Nonsense


It’s only the middle of the week and I had enough reading nonsense of what’s happening in our Ibu Pertiwi for the past 1 week.

First, we have one MSM that definitely has run out of credible ideas to increase their sales when they splashed on the frontpage “Bangkitlah Melayu” next to a pic of f(ailed) 1 peeyem helping the sikh ladies turning ther capathis during Vasakhi Day celebration. How oxymoronic! Dear Mr. Whisperer, thanks for the wake-up call here. Let me tell you Utusan Melayau (borrowing this from Encik Hishamuddin Rais), if you bloody think Malays are like Kuih Bangkit, I guess the UM(pphhhh)NO Goons have been using the wrong recipe since May 13, 1969.

Then, Rais was so eager with his new job as Menteri ‘Rancangan Tergendala Malaysia’, warning the bloggers to watch out (no spin spin ok heheheheh yea right) and changing the chinese and tamil news to different time slots (errr…anybody still watching these spinners?). He urged the private TV stations to put national interest first, instead commercial (Read: I make no money, so you better not, so my lousy stations could catch up with you all? Shishhh busuk hati tak habis habis).

Yes, at last, the Kangaroo Court has arrived at our shore, people. This is the land where convicts and criminals walk away scot free, democracy is being robbed under broad daylight and a mother who got jailed because she wanted to feed her children. Shame on you to all hopping, rotting, stinking court jesters (ops not forgetting the non-functional ex-Ng Yen Yen's ministry too)!

And I spek no in-glis cos I dun understand this “Royal is above politics” (does it mean they can do whatever they think they CAN? Or they shouldn’t interfere with one?) and this one too “It is with them (the failed 1 peeyem) has to clear his name? (Aminah’s family? Anak Bangsa Malaysia?). OK, I’ll go and read more ‘in-glis’ Sir!

Have you done with your tax-filing? If you think it is worth your time staying late at work and claim you meal allowance, stop dreaming because it is taxable. For feel-good factors about paying (less) tax, start contributing your hard-earned money to charity, buy books and buy new computers (and become a blogger yeay!). No, please la, we don’t need more submarines, fighter jets and no-value-added space tourist, let alone to sponsor more botox and liposuction treatments!

EC must be damn tired handling b(u)y (and byebye) elections these days aye. Ala, 5 tahun sekali je buat kerja – might as well we hire them on part basis je, no need full time bangku-man and all. Jimat woo. EC thinks it’s money waster (hehehehhe how about your decision not to use indelible ink in GE12?) Encik Stocktube thinks it’s just your failed 1 peeyem’s political creativity (accounting)) and Anak Mamu Surat Khabar Lama feels they (those seangkatan dengannya) should penalise lawmakers that resign with no valid points (Laa, cakap je la takut kalah lagi Mamu marah lagi). Fairus, the ex-penanti man, is one funny idiot – somehow his double master degrees don't make him any brainier. I say – shall we bring on the mights of both world – Surat Khabar Lama and DSAI?

So, do you think PROTON can still sell lousy cars to us Anak Bangsa? Yes, they will now that non-national cars will bear higher interest rate. I call it a bail out. During this trying time, most financial institutions are being ridiculuously panic that it is so bloody hard to get a financing (unless you got kaki la). The RM60.0 Billion mini (curry puff) budget ain't going to help us ordinary people. You lost your job, skidded your repayment obligations and the Bank will hound you like you are a criminal (ah-long style). The GoMen can touch our EPF money when they are 'sick' yet we can't when we are in financial dire straits. Of course they can say it's for your good old days but what's the future like if you can't even live today? I always feel EPF and financial institutions should lend their helping hands now. For once, can we stop talking about how much profit we have? Give back to the people that brings you up!

While the First Family of USA is happy having their Bo around (they say you can judge the owner from the dog – to me, darn cutie Bo is adorable, active and humble), another puppy was strangled to death – just because it entered a malay house in Langkawi. This is the sign that our Ibu Pertiwi is nowhere near greatness. What is a human if not for his thinking ability? My sympathy goes out to the owner of this puppy : (- -

Yang Berkhidmat Eli Wong is back at work and Toyol isn’t at all happy with that (gosh, it really affects him badly he can't stop coming up with something stupid enough to tarnish Pakatan Rakyat - kesian) and a few days later, a blog posted pictures of her, again. You XY-bearing species out there, you can have fun humiliating women like that if you have no respect for your mother. Enough said.

To make my heart goes on fire (again!), MEF (complains) that they got to spend RM1.57 B on maternity leave yearly! OK women, stop reproducing (and tell that to your hubbies), let us become like The Little Red Dot (yea baby, bring on more china dolls and all) and let our children become self-centred (less time spend during the first few months of their precious life) and less brainy. Hows that MEF? Stupid statement I would say because if they think they have to fork out RM3K a month to get a replacement – boo hoo – another officer will take up her job at no extra cost (no overtime, no allowance whatsoever allowed). Shooooot!

Goodness gracious me! What have we become, all? Do you want our children to live in this kind of Nation? Fight or flight - these are only options we have!

Anyway, may God bless Dr Hsu for sharing with me about the greatest ever Britain's Got Talent star, Susan Boyle. Her voice is magical (i have to say because i love broadways and classicals) and knowing that she came from this tiny village of the Highlander Scotland, indeed, dreams do come true, if you took the chances! Only brave souls would do that. People could say whatever they want (yes, just listen to Simon Cowell's remarks when she first got on the stage) but if we think we can, smile and show the world know that WE (BLOODY) CAN! Ops! :)

p.s. Sad to say, a lot of women out there refuse to become politically aware simply because they have enough nonsense dealing with men (either their husbands or bosses) and being a good mom is super challenging nowadays. Let’s hope we women never forget that “the hands that rock the cradle is the hands that rules the world”.
p.p.s. Dr Seuss says "I like nonsense - it wakes up the brain cells". Bet our nonsensical gomen wakes us up, don't you think?

Walk Away


I told my good friend Bro PT Corporate Athelete that I walk to Puduraya every working day to get my Selangor Omnibus back home. He told me it's a good 2 - 3 km. Yes, i want to maintain my time of 10 km/h (considering I'm not a runner - ok tak Bro PT CA?).

With my 'best friends' (my beloved humble walking shoes and ever cheerful phone), I make sure I power walk, leaving behind the bimmers as they stuck in the forever maddening traffic. I take the route along Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve so I don't really pay attention to those guys (yea right).

Instead, my soul is mesmerised with the greens - plain as they are yet so green and pristine, i feel like i'm in my little make-believe valley. I have this habit of looking at a group of tree and believe me you could see certain parts of them will move to a distinctice rhythm and later another will move (mind you, i've thought about the wind - nope, it isn't). Mak told me the leaves are 'praising the God' / 'berzikir'.

The beauty of walking is that it doesn't make me feel tired - i find that i have more energy throughout the day (but some people told me i'm always full of energy and emo too heheheh) but the best gift of walking is that i have a great night sleep and waking up feeling "which mountain should i conquer today":) It is so rejuvenating i must say.

At one point of time in my life, i paid several visits to the beauty centre, hoping they could help me to shed kilos. Frankly, i felt even more depressed because it was all about eating little food and not much about working out and having a good healthy lifestyle. Thank God i stopped - or else i would be thinking like any other gal out there? No offence but if you rely on others to make who you are without any pains, that's so damn weak and believe me, this could translate negatively into many more areas in your life. Shish...I hate that...

I'm looking forward to my evening walk - I walk away and that - makes my day!

Charlotte's Web




If I have a child, this is one of the movies I will watch with him – over and over again. This beautiful movie is the third produced, based on E. B. White’s award-winning children novel of the same title, first published in 1952. This gifted author also gives us cutie little mousie “Stuart Little”. Here’s the plot summary to this movie, featuring Julia Roberts as Charlotte and Dakota Fanning as Fern, that made me cried from the start till the end.

This is a classic tale of loyalty, friendship and dealing with realities of life. While my sis in law asked me how would I explain to a small kid about watching a movie with a pig (Wilbur) in it, I am saddened that we fail to see the trees in the forest. We fail to see the message yet we focus on the indifference and taboo we have.

Back at One


At last, I'm back at home sweet home.

I missed my bed in my vanilla-scented room (warning:the smell could increase your trip down to the kitchen, dipping cookies in cold milk, hence, use with caution). I was grinning when i saw my earphones (I've been music-less since I was away). I touched my bedtime story book (I wonder when will i ever finished reading this extremely thick Roald Dahl's Short Stories for Sleepless Nights). I'm back at One - me at my best!

I have to confess that I was not my usual self for the past 4 days since my Little Angel Hariz Firdaus was admitted to the hospital due to pneumonia.

For one, the other Little Angel of mine Faris Haziq is inseparable from his Mama, I was almost out of my wits to cheer him up at night before his Papa comes back from visiting my sis and Hariz Firdaus. He was devastated. Listening to his Mama's voice over the phone, his tears rolled down. He kept saying "I miss you Mama, please come back, I love you". A cry baby myself, i couldn't help but felt so helpless. His Amuma* hushed him to sleep but it was extremely difficult. We almost banned the word "Mama' during that 4 days we stayed there. One morning, Ayah found him sitting on the bench facing the other side of the road after his kindergarten class, asking when will Mama and Papa come and fetch him. I bought him "Finding Nemo" fishing toy so he could have reasons to come back home after visiting the hospital (now, i think i want to try fishing - kind of interesting). The following nights, I made him coloured "Lightning McQueen" and did his many jigsaw puzzles - still, there were no twinkle in his eyes. Alhamdullilah, his brother was discharged on Wednesday and since then, Faris Haziq was like a shadow to his Mama, both hands holding on to his Mama, following my sis all over the house. It is true when they say you would know how much you love someone when you have a child. Looking at Faris Haziq, I saw myself when I was small - I would cry at nights in my aunties' house, missing Mak and Ayah and most of the time, they had to send me back to Tok's house in the middle of the night) for it seemed my world had come to the end without them and i thought very hard why they sent me here (when me and my sis were the ones jumping up and joy for the sleepover a few hours before).

*p.s. Amuma = Grandma in Urdu (had to borrow this from my Little Women of PG as we wanted him to use single syllable word to call Mak)

At the hospital, my sis found this one chinese guy, taking care of his 1-year old baby down with Asthma at night, so that his wife could get a good sleep and take care of their baby during the day. Mind you, he told my sis that he still go to work after his 'shift'. He's truly Bapa Mithali.

Leaving our house in the rush, i forgot to bring my precious earphones along (if you don't know, I need music to make me feel alive and think and the best of all, with earphones, i could ward off unwanted strangers from striking a conversation with me). I could always borrow my sis' but I have a habit of resisting myself from using other's stuffs. This morning, the rhythm was back in my blood, i was happily tapping my feet to Akon's "You're So Beautiful" and many more. Believe me, I could hear the mechanical part of my grey matter ticking again :)

I didn't have time to say goodbye to my Mulan, Adam, Benji and Bongo. When i got back last night, Adam stoned himself in the driveway, i had to move him or he would get himself killed - Yikes! After giving him his needed cuddles, I called for Mulan. She was nowhere. My brother told me that they - he and his wife (they are staying over while Nani is nursing her early pregnancy stage - yes, Mak thinks I'm going to have another nephew) told me that they rarely seen her. That is weird, knowing Mulan is extremely territorial, despite being neutered and shockingly, Mulan is a she-cat, she roams our area like the Queen. An hour later, after repeated callings, she climbed into my room and got her dose of TLC. Once at peace, she was nowhere to be found - mungkin melawat tanah jajahan :). All the stress left my body, mind and soul as i stroked them. Thank God for my cats - i got my sanity back.

This morning i woke to my 'natural eye lotion' working so good I feel young - i cried myself to sleep. Ish, so kememe..

It was indeed so good to be back at one.

Will the Real Gentleman Please Stand Up?

William Shakespeare of 15th Century thinks women do protest too much. In my case, I enjoy protesting against injustice. While having lunch yesterday, we ladies of pleasure* talked about men these days.

*p.s. Since we still have to go to work

Men these days are coward individuals. When they are ‘bestowed’ with problems, they run helter skelter, ‘hiding in the cave or in the arms of their alpha-female mummies’, leaving behind their loved ones only to come out when they feel so of doing.

Nadhirah, one of my Little Women of PG, scored 10A for her SPM and her male cousin 3A. Their Atta*, however, rejoiced over the latter’s meagre achievement (since pupils nowadays scored tens of A easy peasy). Reason being the latter was ‘clever’ to get that results while having the time of his life, playfully and as for the former, women can achieve ‘the stars and the mountains’ of exam results yet they will never go far in life in terms of career. Mind you, Atta is a chairman of one public listed company and is very well educated.

*p.s. Atta = grandpa in Urdu.

How come such double standard? To make things even painful, some universities restricted the number of female students enrolled so more men of lower credit can get a place. Do we need to create such culture to prop up lame individuals? No wonder, just look at how badly our country is managed.
One young lady suffered a miscarriage because the hubby kept on complaining to his mummy about how moody was the mummy-to-be. For God sake, no man should complain about pregnant ladies – no matter what - for they are carrying your babies. I wonder if that was worth the trouble caused by the hubby. I hope she can still experience motherhood. Some, unfortunately, would never have a baby of their own. Come to think of it, would you want to have that kind of guy as your hubby? Thanks but no thanks.

In some households, men don’t have to lift a finger around the house and the women are just silent partner, bearing the former children, satisfying the needs that match the kings and the babies, I can say. Maybe it is how men are raised in a family, too many are having their only son – they are priceless ‘trophy’. I always feel to raise men, you got to be firm, stern and most of the times, cruel (hm, I sound like a stepmom now).

They must be trained to be hardworking yet accomodating, brilliant yet humble, independent yet attentive (and sensitive), firm yet passionate, and above all, able to think! (hm, maybe I need to check if their grey matter is smaller than us women?)

They say generations are needed to make a gentleman, mere circumstances make a lady. Too often, ladies are made – thanks to the trouble from many boys trapped in adult ‘pantsuit’.

Will the real gentleman please stand up? Step forward and make this world a wonderful place to live in.

Your Handwriting Won't Lie Baby


Once upon a time, I told my dear friend that I wanted to start a “Letter Writing Club”, as I missed how we used to convey our ideas, thoughts and emotions. I love tracing the words printed or especially written on that piece of paper – they evokes emotions – so magical they could turn back the time.

Perhaps, Ms Bobbie Ann Pimm managed to encapsulate the beauty of letter writing as extracted from her blog, below: -

“Once written, you can read it over and over again, and cherish it time after time, knowing that someone cared enough to take the time to write. After all, writing is not an automatic response. It requires thought and concentration and effort. People often speak, without thought – it is, for most of the part, an automatic response”.

On the count of ‘emotionless’ sms and emails I received thus far (mmm, I don’t mean you need to punctuate your words with love, miss, care, etc. to attain certain emotion), I have to confess I can determine what kind of character a person is through their handwriting – as result, I ditched many suitors and friends (or foes?). With that ability (hehehheheheh..i am now one of the HEROES), I stumbled upon this idea of “Write your Date”.

This is what I have in mind. How about finding your Mr/Mrs Right by going through his/her handwriting – the slant, the size, overall forms and shape of letters, below/above the lines, signatures and uses of personal pronoun. The art of handwriting analysis – called Graphology - allows, amongst other to determine one’s character and shows that person’s ‘character portrait’, and right down whether he’s stressed or ill.

Anyway, if it’s not finding the lucky fellow, I have to tell you letter writing opens up your world and your senses. Thank God for strangers I never even met yet took all the trouble to reply my snail mails and shared their hopes and ideals on matters that made me wrote to them in the first place. Through letter writing, everyone’s important in a special way.

I am not blaming technologies but people who let their life to be ruled by technology that make them so out of touch with all living beings. A 7-sentence message I received from a stranger in FB today has made my day because I feel ‘connected at cerebral and cardio level’.

Letter writings won’t fool you or your feelings – just like the letter sent by your Banker or the one sent by your grandpa to your beloved grandma when they first courted decades ago. It’s darn simple yet meaningful. I guess it explains why marriages from yesteryears survived for ages compared to many nowadays.

So, the next time you want to make a move, maybe you want to consider asking that person to write down his/her name . I bet what you seen in his/her handwriting, is what you are going to get in real life.

Honey, I don't need your Money


After going through Mr Whisperer blog, I feel proud of people, from all walk of life, who have worked relentlessly for Pakatan Rakyat on shoestring budget compared to public-fund spender, the B(e)N goons. Rain or shine, makan or no makan, they managed to unite majority of voters in Bukit Gantang and Bukit Selambau to bring down the extinct dinosaur of Modern Malaysia.

Yes, I am still over the moon about the people power's victory. Having read many post-mortems and analysis of the tri-elections, i wish i could tell to those who still suck up to the power-that-be: "Wake up la. People Vote, not your money".

And i came across this interesting American site - PEOPLE VOTE; MONEY DON’T

"When the Founding Fathers imagined the republic, it was government of, by, and for the PEOPLE. But these days, with the candidates spending much of their time chasing down industry MONEY, it’s become governement of, by, and for the Big Corporate Donors. We need to level the playing field; we need to free up our elected officials from their constant fundraising so they can listen to us, the voters. We need full public financing of elections. And we need candidates who will live by it and fight for it. Let’s make it about ideas and issues and voters and volunteers, again, not about the big shots and their big checks. Let’s get back to the bedrock of democracy: “People Vote. Money Don’t.”

For B(e)N(d), their money is not honey to us Anak Bangsa Malaysia. I can sense that as a result of lanslide victory for Pakatan Rakyat in the last GE, which almost brought the goons to their knees (Read: too simple a majority), people are more conscientious, they feel proud of who they are, embrace their identity with others in harmony and above all, more people agree that to have a good government, you have to send those people who are god-fearing. We are not talking about extremisism, just plainly back to basic tenet of each religion.

Let me share with Rober Frost "The Road not Taken", that rings the bell with current sentiment of Anak Bangsa Malaysia...

The Greed Breeds at Home


I come across this when reading “The Human History of Greed”: -

"When you're taking things that aren't rightfully yours, or entering areas where you are closing off opportunities for others, your ambition has turned into greed," says Pat Harned, president of the Ethics Resource Center, a Washington think tank. "It's a fine line."

When I can say that “GREED” is stamped on the forehead of AIG executives and UM(ph)NO goons, just have a look at our life and you can see that greed breeds in many places, in many forms and it affects us in many ways.

One area that worries me is our education system and family values . Take a listen to this conversation as told to me by a colleague this morning: -

Son : Mom, when can I start voting?

Mom : When you turn 18.

Son : So, who should I vote?

Mom : If you want to ‘hidup senang’, you vote B(e)N(d).

Blimey! I bet her hubby’s account balance depends highly on B(e)N(d) closed tender contracts. I bet he got to be in a premier school because of his father’s connnection and not due to his good performance.

It is even worrisome that our not-so-educated Education Ministry is proposing for teachers to be politically active since that guy from Johore thinks it’s a waste not to capitalise on them. Shish, I wonder what will happen to your kids when the schools turn into mini-BTN, where these innocent souls will be ‘brainwashed’ to accept that life is all about $, $, $.

Too bad, it is too often started at home – thanks to the ever-pleasing parents – as they teach their children that their measurement of love is what they can give them, materially. That’s so shallow, sadly, to see we reward people for wrong reasons and measurements – when love should be spelt as care and devotion, when promotion at works is related to your performance, when people treat you nicely simply because they mean it.

While the People Power’s victory in BG and BS makes me smile from ear to ear since last night, I can’t help but worry that the road to a better Ibu Pertiwi is indeed a long, winding one when the people, yes you out there, still having such distorted mentality.

p.s. Having to dissect the never-ending mights required in raising an innocent child in today’s world, I shall remain child-less till further notice. Never mind stray cats – in my ‘kingdom’, they are all loved – indiscriminately.

Encounter with the Other Kind


I was flying – high up in the sky – before I touched down at the junction, standing next to The Other Kind – a woman with long hair and white garment – facing North West. She turned to me and I woke up from my dream. I turned to the other side of my bed, imagining her standing outside my window. The next morning, I told Mak that I met Altantuya and Mak said, I despised the F1 PM so much that she visited me – of course, jokingly. Deep down, if it was true that I met Altantuya last night, I was hoping that I will meet her again later that night.

My prayer was answered. I went back to my Tok’s house and we were having kenduri. Out of nowhere, she was there reading from a piece of paper but unfortunately the noise muffled everything and in a whiff, I was back in the real world. But I realised she had manifested her presence outside my dream. The air I breathed in was heavy and highly sedated, I was a refugee with my hands clutching the comforter – unable to move or to speak. She slid on top of my body – gently and slowly rocking. Frankly, I wasn’t scared and I saw her blurry face looking at me (imagine someone lying face down on top of you). I wanted to ask her and the next thing I know, I cried “Allahuakbar” / “God is Great”. That made her jumped and moved away from me. I cried myself to sleep after that – sorrow engulfed me. I told myself I must see her – again.

I guessed I got scared the next day or I was following what Mak told me to do – I recited Surah Al-Baqarah in my room. I slept like a baby last night. Perhaps, the Paracetamol I took did the trick (I wouldn’t wish to be sick on Monday as I was gardening in the rain that evening). Above all, i was protected.

Was she Altantuya or just another hungry ghost during this Qing Ming Festival? Curiosity kills the cat and would mine too?
