A New Beginning...

I read my first blog - that was Jeff Ooi's ScreenShot - three years ago. Yes, i'm self-confessed late-bloomer in almost everything except my career and house chores hehehhehe...

And today, I got my own blog! Wow! Congrats to me!

Not that I strive to be famous like Jeff Ooi and Rocky Bru (my daily doses of sanity) or write down nitty gritty bits of my oh-so ordinary life activities (i never own a diary). Reading blogs - political and apolitical - comforts my soul. There are people out there who share the same ideas, opinions and feelings like mine (suprise, suprise because I think I'm too critical or too empathic). Indeed, we are never alone unless we let us ourselves to be left alone.

A few years back, I used to write to newspapers columns to air my views -but sometimes, it took too long to be featured because the topics were not that hot like I complained on inhumane treatment by PERHILITAN to one man who took care for a tiger (who lost his habitat in the name of development), on why security guards should not be paid pittance for their dangerous job in delivering cash to our Bankers, ATM, supermarkets etc. Then, I dared myself to write to Malaysiakini (because I stopped supporting mainstream newspapers) on inter-racial marriages (hey, i made it - twice).

With a blog, I could share ( a.k.a complain heheheh) my view at the speed of my typing, subject to availability to connect to the World Wide Web and I can see that what bloggers shared with others can result in chain of positive actions. Isn't that great! Yes, bloggers make a lot of difference in today's world and I, too, want to be part of this special community.

And I wish one day I could be like Encik Awang Goneng, who penned a beautiful book for his children. I cried reading his blog on how his book has brought together many friends and teachers and not forgetting newfound friends. His book and his blog makes Terengganu seems a must-see holiday destination for many foreigners. Coincidently, 2008 is Visit Terengganu Year! Perhaps, GuiT could be one of must-have souvenirs from Terengganu and Malaysia. Tahniah Encik Awang Goneng!

Allow me to start my new beginning with this song - No Man Is An Island (Joan Baez)

No man is an island, No man stands alone,

Each man's joy is joy to me, Each man's grief is my own...

We need one another, So I will defend,

Each man as my brother,Each man as my friend...

I saw the people gather, I heard the music start,

The song that they were singing, Is ringing in my heart...

No man is an island, Way out in the blue,

We all look to the one above, For our strength to renew...

When I help my brother, Then I know that I,

Plant the seed of friendship, That will never die...
