Somehow, Someday, Somewhere

This beautiful song by Welsh Rhydian Roberts resonates my battered feeling today.

On the eve of Black Malaysia 070509, the scared rats have resort to abuse of powers and mights they were entrusted with by you people (but sadly, for their own sake). It is just too painful to see that in today’s world, seeking justice and expressing one’s opinion are considered crimes under their self-made suka-suka law. I cried unashamedly.

Somehow, someday, somewhere, this place shall be ours. It's now or never ....

Somewhere – Rhydian Roberts

There's a place for us, Somewhere a place for us

Peace and quiet and open air

Wait for us, Somewhere

There's a time for us, Someday a time for us

Time together with time to spare

Time to learn, time to care

Someday, Somewhere

We'll find a new way of living

We'll find a way of forgiving

Somewhere

There's a place for us, A time and a place for us

Hold my hand and we're half way there

Hold my hand and I'll take you there

Somehow, Someday

We'll find a new way of living

We'll find a way, of forgiving

Somewhere

There's a place for us,Somewhere a place for us

Peace and quiet and open air

Hold my hand and I'll take you there

Somehow, Someday, Somewhere

Mommies are Important

Yes, that's what i heard while watching Barney and Friends on Playhouse Disney Channel with my Little Angels.

Let's talk about why are they so.

Mommies continued to carry us for a long nine months and 10 days, despite the morning sickness, mood swing, backaches and swollen feet - so we could see this world and make a difference - Ever thought how much we need to pay a surrogate mother?

Mommies fed us, changed our wet nappies, did our pedicure and manicure, massaged our body so we could grow up strong and loved & Mommies lulled us to sleep while she cut short hers and getting the dark circles yet still smiled everytime we saw her face.

Mommies continued listening to your bad days at school, college, work and relationship and offered her comforting hands, shoulders and words even when they couldn't even comprehend what we were talking about, at their expenses (long and expensive reverse calls) and putting their hearts to unnecessary stress.

Mommies cooked us breakfast, lunch and dinner, prepared our lunchbox, so we could be healthy and smart(y). Mommies pressed our uniforms and whitened our shoes so you looked the most cutest kid in school. Mommies hugged and mommies waved. We walked to school feeling we could conquer this world.

Mommies taught us ABCs, 123s, science, logic and all. They said we must be good, prim and proper. They told us to respect and to love, flush the toilet, wash our hands and brush our teeth. They hugged us after a good scold and they said their prayers so we would be safe and sound, asking forgiveness from God if they had failed us.

I wonder what and where are we now if not for Mommies dearie?

To my beloved Mak and all Mommies out there, Happy Mother's Day! For all the good we have in ourselves, we owe them to Mommies. May all Mommies out there be loved, heard and pampered. Mommies - they all should be in heaven.

Mommies, indeed, are important, Barney!

This Title

Even during my 'almost brain-dead' weekend, a tiny weeny thought passed through my grey matters - i wonder how his son will grow up having him as the father? Would it be difficult as people have that kind of negative stigma on your daddy?

*Ta! Daaa!* On Monday, surfing through the online MCA's paper yesterday, i came across a picture of someone, who in the last couple of months has emerged as the winner of a certain political wing. I smiled - thank goodness for a son, he seems more matured and focused. See here for that particular article on him. At least, he showed some efforts towards achieving 1Malaysia, unlike that fella walking next to him. Way to go, Encik KJ!

*p.s. Masin otak saya!

So, you may wonder why i thought so. Well, you see, i am a firm believer of instincts and i judge people from their outlook (so you better watch out ;). Thus, i think parenthood has made him a sensible human being, like any father should be. And i was told by someone that people trust married people more than others. Ok la, i will try...because that's so prejudice!

So, marriage should make you a good person and upon bestow of that special title - as a mother or a father, you should all become better. I hope we should look at children as gift of life, not a clone of you, that you will ensure that every single action of yours will be translated to what your child will become in the future that they better be great.

That's scary isn't it? For me, it is so daunting a responsibility - I pass - till further notice...

May all the married men and women lead this world to betterment. The stake is too high for them to fail these innocent children - theirs and the rest of the children of this world.

I like this quote from Mr. Fred G. Gosman on (good) parenting: -

"We must return optimism to our parenting. To focus on the joys, not the hassles; the love, not the disappointments; the common sense, not the complexities"

SOS Call for Pulau Ketam's Stray Dogs

My dear friends, i have to produce the following urgent appeal verbatim as i lost for words for these unwanted souls of Pulau Ketam. How could you not feel the pain of this puppy? Look at her eyes... If you could not directly assist, I hope you would pass around this urgent appeal to others who can make a difference to these stray dogs..Please :(. . ?

Extracted from Shoba's Remembering Sheena: -

Pulau Ketam sent 300 stray dogs to a remote island to starve to death. Please help with rescue!

The residents of Pulau Ketam sent some 300 stray dogs to exile on a remote island where the harsh conditions almost certainly guarantee a horrible death. Of the 300 dogs sent there, more than three-quarters are presumed to be already dead.

I traveled to the island with Sabrina Yeap of Furry Friends Farm and managed to save only one dog on this reconnaissance trip. We did see several other starving and dying dogs along the mangrove shore. I am mounting an urgent rescue mission to capture and transport the remaining survivors back to Sabrina's Furry Friends Farm animal shelter.

But time is running out and there might be only skeletons and carcasses left to collect on our next trip. Boat hire is expensive there. It is a tourist area and it has already cost me a few hundred ringgit for boat hire alone, so far. The rescued dogs cannot be transported on the regular ferries.

Almost nobody will lift a finger to help without a fee. This is understandable. The locals are already shaking their heads in disbelief that there are outsiders who want to save the animals they so casually discarded. Instead of pointing fingers and antagonising them, we need their co-operation to help save the unfortunate creatures. In the process, we also hope to educate the islanders on better treatment of animals. It would be an impossible mission if we didn't win their hearts.

If you are unable to help directly, please help by forwarding this appeal to other compassionate folks who you feel might be able to make some monetary contributions. Apart from boat hire, we need money to buy cages, to pay people to help catch them, to hire land transport to send the rescued animals to veterinary clinics, pay for vet fees, send the recovered ones to the shelter and to feed and house them for life. I can go on!

To donate or help, e-mail TV Smith at tvsmith@mycen.com.my or Sabrina Yeap at yeapwen@yahoo.com Fellow bloggers, you can also help by embedding the appeal poster above to your blog and linking to http://www.mycen.com.my/rescue

We are aware it is a monumental task and appreciate all forms of support, assistance, suggestions, encouragement and your prayers. Thank you and don't forget to view the pictures of the dogs in order to appreciate their plight.

Irish Week-End

While i had an almost 'brain-dead' weekend of free from internet and books, it was bearable with irish musics from U2 (how so sexy), Ronan Keatings, The Corrs, Brian McFadden and the heavenly Cranberries plus the ever-invigorating Riverdance!

Nabbing the napping docs

To laugh or to curse – that was my dilemma after reading our Health Minister’s backing of the 2 Gomen doctors at HKL here. So, instead, I shed some tears for our Kitchen Cabinet Minister is definitely not cut for his responsibility – ensuring all citizens are provided with reliable and humane medical treatment with dignity. I wonder why we put idiots running all these life-and-death matters.

So, does it justify their laissez-faire attitude to those waiting patients (mind you, they were at the A&E’s critical zone)? My colleague was telling me that a friend to his son died while waiting at the A&E Unit in front of his dad’s eyes and I've heard many other shocking stories too. Can you imagine the pain and guilt his family has to endure for the rest of their lives? I wouldn't wish to put anyone in that sad reality.

Hello stupid docs (ops, not you Mr H, you are heaven-sent), why on earth you became a doctor in the first place when you are so bloody lazy and heartless? If you think another human’s life is worthless of your responsibility, I suggest you may want to consider working at the morgue. Maybe you have more time flipping through MSM.

As I was telling my uncle (both my Chu and Pak Busu are good, god-fearing, responsible medical doctors), each family should invest in one medical doctor. Reasons being – when you started mentioning that your so-and-so is a doctor, the doctors and nurses will give you their very best – so call it your safety net from ‘meeting your Maker untimely or in great pains as a result of medical negligence’. Of course, life and death is in the hands of God but to allow one to suffer before that is horribly sinful.

Perhaps, we should exercise our rights and to exercise one before death befallen to anyone. Hmm, I wonder if those inhumane doctors are covered with relevant professional insurance coverage so we could ‘nab’ them? Don’t blame me OK, I’m just ‘menyahut seruan KPDN’s motto – jadilah pengguna yang bijak’.

Mantera Beradu

I heard this metaphorical song over FlyFM as it is nominated for Best Hip-hop Song for Malique (the other partner of Joe Flizzow) – such a beautiful lyric and it features the One and Only M Nasir.

This one of the songs from Malique’s latest album called “OK”. From several reviews I read, many dedicated this song to our politicians. “Menang dengan otak, Tak mesti dengan pedang”. I think this song ‘really masuk akal’.

MANTERA BERADU – MALIQUE ft. M NASIR

Gerakkan Hati... Hati gerakkan... Pandanglah aku.. aku lah dia..

kulitku tebal.. ku kebal.. ingatku kebal..

hanya berbual makan angin kembung perut mual...

resah dan tidak senang..

hidup tak pernah lenang..

ku schizo paranoia takut pecah tembelang pecah tembelang...

peta dah hilang...bangau dah pulang... suara sumbang..

lidahku kaku tak selicin kuku, teman baikku buku, bini ku pena..

tak pernah lena aku suka mengintai pantang ditenung,

berakhir pertelingkahan dalaman, pasti belum ikut gerak hati..

pena melayang dilihat dua layang pandang tak lah sekarang takat meradang tanya..

abang gedang, apa barang?

badan macam badang main macam belakang parang

kuhunuskan keris musuh ada pistol

tradisi kekalkan adaptasi harus betul

tujuh baris keramat tujuh garis penamat

baik berpada biar jahat asal selamat

halang biar keduanya muka cantik

soalan bodoh yang ditanya jadi melodinya

lebih hina dari zina

lu bikin dosa ku bikin prosa

testosterone testarosa citacita sosa

kl kl kosa nostra jalan berliku

ku harung roller coaster

gah sentosa tiada penyesalan luas pandangan

jauh dah berjalan

tak sempurna masih ada kejanggalan

gagal merancang, merancang kegagalan

kucing bawa tidur rimau bawa igau

masuk tempat orang bawa otak bukan pisau

naik bukit angkuh cakap ayah jangan risau

turun bukit pucat dengar tiga miaww

kucing bawa tidur rimau bawa igau

masuk tempat orang bawa otak bukan pisau

tolak pintu gua tiga kerat tenaga

kosong tak dijaga sampai datang

tiga naga ingat nak berlaga

tapi tak kan boleh menang

menang dengan otak tak mesti dengan pedang

sebelum jadi bangkai ikan koi renang renang

pura pura salah jawapan untuk naik berang

panggil lima kawan atau biar pergi laju

risaukan pekara remeh kita tak akan maju

muka sama hijau hati siapa tahu merah dah menyala

pasti mati siapa mahu gagap tiga kali bercakap benar saja bulan terang

ramai yang keluar buat kerja

panjat pokok buluh cari tukun air terjun naik

sampai nampak dah terpegun turun

tiga ular ikut lompat atau paut

kalau lari mati jika jerut maut

puisi hati mu... hati mu puisi palu hati ku palu hatiku

kulit tak besalin walau saling ganti baju

pandang sini pandang sini

ku berbahasa baku kata kata nahu

himpun jadi satu mantera beradu dengan irama dan lagu
